Greetings from Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Our annual family vacation that occurred in mid May of 2025 was wonderful! The Ocracoke Island weather, beaches, experiences with the other vacationers, residents, and business owners were perfect.

A highlight of our trip was the opportunity for our six year old granddaughter to participate in the Junior Ranger program offered through Outer Banks Forever. The informative and interactive booklet presented by one of the rangers at the lighthouse kept our granddaughter engaged and eager to complete the “assignments” that were outlined in the booklet.

Once completed, our granddaughter presented her booklet to Ranger Lulu who gave her enthusiastic feedback and encouragement to keep exploring the island, the seashore and other parks in our state and beyond.

Ranger Lulu was a delight and such a great role model to young children as well as adults! A big THANK YOU to Ranger Lulu and to so many others, including the hard working rangers across our state and nation, who make a difference. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!

Sincerely,
Karen
