Greetings from Yosemite National Park

I don’t have a photo so you will have to use your imagination. Our oldest son was 3 and it was his second camping trip. This was in late September. We had never been to Yosemite so we were very excited. It was dusk when we pulled into the Valley campground and it was full. We got one of the last sites and as we were setting up the tent it was turning cold. We cooked our dinner over the campfire and climbed into our sleeping bags for the night. When we awoke the ground was covered in snow and the campground was empty except for us and someone in a camper. Everyone else had pulled out. Immediately we asked the ranger if we could change sites. We moved to a campsite nearer the river and set up quickly. The snow was still lightly falling but we were able to get a fire going and fix some lunch. After a short nap our son poked his head out of the tent and quickly tugged on us to come see. Between the tent and the campfire was an 8 point buck with a doe not far behind. We were all very still till it wandered away. As we were retting up the site a little later we say 3 coyotes across the river. And the snow was still falling. That was our son’s first experience with a National Park. None of us will ever forget it.

Sincerely,
Sandy
